| Our Historic Square awaits you! In the mid 1800's, the quaint Swiss settlement of Monroe took root in the beautiful rolling hills of south central Wisconsin. Soon, Monroe became the hub of local commerce and in its center grew a handsome Victorian town square punctuated by the perfect fairytale courthouse. Steeped in old world traditions, the restaurants, pubs and specialty shops of Monroe offer a soothing retreat into the relaxing environment of rural Wisconsin. We haven't yet graduated to the hustle-bustle of the big city, but we do offer a sophisticated shopping district full of interesting merchandise not usually found in malls, including seven women's clothing stores and a quality shoe emporium, jewelry, gifts, antiques and home decor galore.
